Plans are being made to honor President Ronald Reagan whose leadership, personal warmth, courage, humor, principles, and ability to communicate with the American voters won him a place in the hearts and minds of Americans.
Governor Baldacci signed a proclamation making Wednesday, February 6, 2008 Ronald Reagan Day.
Plans are being made to honor President Ronald Reagan whose leadership, personal warmth, courage, humor, principles, and ability to communicate with the American voters won him a place in the hearts and minds of Americans. America overwhelmingly voiced approval of his leadership when 49 of the 50 states reelected him president in 1984.
Last year 34 governors proclaimed February 6 “Ronald Reagan Day.” Well over one-third of the governors were Democrats who set aside partisanship to honor this great man.
The popularity of Ronald Reagan among Americans today is reflected in the current presidential debates, when both Republican and Democrat candidates recall his name and the Reagan Legacy.
Please mark the date of Wednesday, February 6th, and plan to attend an uplifting and enjoyable press conference at the State House which will be scheduled by GOP leadership. Since learning of the proclamation, Reagan admirers from the grassroots to the State House are excited and looking forward to honoring Ronald Reagan on his birthday with sentiments, memories, quotes.and jelly beans, and appreciate the Governor Baldaccis creation of Ronald Reagan Day in Maine.
